Resolve to Be Kind to Your Home

Paul Kronforst of News/Talk 1130 WISN on Winter Remodeling with Callen

As I write this, we are in the midst of Christmas and New Year’s activities, which always gets me thinking about New Year’s resolutions, most of which I forget about around February 1.

In addition to the typical lose weight, quit smoking, or read more, make a resolution this year to be “kind” to your home. Every home needs to be cared for, whether it’s five years old or 50 years old.

Winter is not typically thought of as a season to remodel. I’m not sure why, but for some reason, people tend to wait it out until spring to start the renovation process. However, winter is actually a fantastic time to remodel.

Think about it: Contractors need to put a dumpster in your yard or driveway for the demo work. In winter, there is no need to worry about the kids playing in the yard, cutting the grass, or maintaining your beautiful flower beds. It’s an excellent time to have contractors work on your kitchen, bath, lower level, or whatever it is that your house needs. Callen Sales Design Consultants use computer aided design programs that literally give you a photo of what your finished remodeling project will look like before they start. This saves time and money.

Heck, there are very few days Callen cannot work outside in the winter, as the company installs exterior products such as windows, siding and doors all year long.

Take this time and use it to your advantage to plan a winter remodeling project and get it completed before summer starts. Then you can enjoy your yard, work on your flowerbeds, and enjoy the beautiful new project Callen has accomplished for you.

Best wishes for a healthy and prosperous New Year!
