Create a Beautiful and Functional Living Space with New Windows

As the weather transforms into spring, you might notice your space needs a transformation too.

“If your windows are something you want to enhance to reflect your unique style and personality, now is the perfect time to do so,” said Alexander Clementi, Sales • Design • Consultant with Callen. “If your windows are original to your house, old builder-grade windows, or older than 15 years, it’s time for an upgrade and replacement.”

Elevate your surroundings with new windows when you notice:

Drafts and/or Leaks

Old and insufficient weather stripping and window caulking can cause leaks in your windows. “Look for cracks in between the frame and glass of the window,” said Alexander. “Most problem areas are found there, or sometimes gaps are found where two or more glass panels meet.”
Leaks or drafts can also be brought to a homeowner’s attention during a storm. If water is appearing around the interior of your windows, it’s a good sign that your windows are not in proper working order. In addition, the insulating factor of your windows might not be sufficient if the windows feel hot during the summer and cold during the winter.

Condensation

Condensation occurs when warm air encounters a cool surface, like the ice-cold glass of lemonade you enjoy on your patio in the summer months. “When window seals fail, water, ice, and sunlight cause fog to appear between the panes,” Alexander said. “A practical solution is the replacement of your windows.”

Faulty Operation

If you struggle to open and close your windows, look for the quality craftsmanship of new windows. Damaged screens or glass, broken panes, and rotting of the material necessitate innovative state-of-the-art windows.

High Energy Costs

Drafts, condensation, and operational difficulties affect the energy efficiency of your windows. When these symptoms occur, your HVAC must work harder to enrich your living experience. “The U.S. Department of Energy states that 25-30% of heating and cooling loss in homes is caused by flawed windows,” he said.

Your heating and cooling system can maintain optimal temperature when you install new windows. “If it’s surprising that your energy bill has increased, you need to assess your windows,” said Alexander. “Addressing your window needs now will help you save in the long run.”

Callen is the area’s exclusive partner and professional installer of Infinity® from Marvin fiberglass replacement windows. “These windows are designed to be strong, beautiful, easy to operate, and energy-efficient,” Alexander said. “Better yet, Infinity’s fiberglass replacement windows feature more glass than any other product, giving you more daylight and better views year after year. What a great way to enjoy the spring flowers and fresh air!”
