It’s a new year, and this is my first blog of 2024. Let’s talk about winter remodeling for your home.

It took a while, but winter has finally arrived, and with a vengeance! The cold weather is a perfect time to assess your windows and doors. Wisconsin winters can be harsh. When the temperature is -10 with a windchill of -30, old windows and doors just cannot handle those extremes.

Some signs you have issues are obvious. Having drafts around doors and windows that you can definitely feel and sometimes even see when your window treatments are moved by the frigid air. If you put a blanket on the floor by your front door because it’s so cold, that’s a problem.

So, what do you do? Address and prioritize what you need done first. Callen, which installs windows and doors year-round, offers a wide variety of Infinity from Marvin fiberglass replacement windows and patio doors and ProVia storm and entry doors. More importantly, Callen provides the expertise, knowledge, and skilled and trained installers to do it right.

Regarding budget, here’s my advice. Do what you have to do first and get it done. We did a few windows at a time and over the course of a few years, every window in our home was replaced with Infinity from Marvin fiberglass products, including the front door and the patio door. What a difference that made in making our home warmer and more energy efficient, plus it looks beautiful. We could not be happier.

In addition, you will reap the benefits in spring when you let the fresh air in.

Take that door “sock” away from your front door and call Callen for your winter remodeling project at 414-529-5509 or visit CallCallen.com so you can be more comfortable in your house this winter!
