At Callen, we genuinely care for people, our clients, and their homes. As our company was coming out of the slumber of winter and ready to begin the busy season of home shows and spring projects, the recent pandemic was just beginning, and it caused us to reflect on just what exactly do those words mean?
Callen has been a family-owned remodeling company since 1986. Our employees are part of our family, which makes their families our extended family. The long-term relationships we have established with our clients over the years makes them part of the Callen family too. Callen’s status as a construction business, an essential business under Wisconsin’s Safer at Home order, would allow us to continue to work. But out of a genuine concern for our family’s health, we felt that we had an obligation to create a safe work environment for everyone involved. Over the past month, normal business operations were suspended until new policies and procedures were in place to combat the spread of this disease.
With these new provisions in place, we are now ready and excited to get back to work. Our design centers remain closed to the general public and continue to be available by appointment only. We now have three options for our clients to begin their remodeling process – in their home, in our design center, or by our new virtual consultation. We are utilizing digital measuring tools and a digital paperwork process when possible to limit the amount of time we are spending in front of clients. Our staff is required to wear face masks, as recommended by the CDC, while engaging with the public. Installers are wiping down exposed surfaces in the homes they are working in. We have installed touchless soap dispensers in our office, and frequent hand washing is recommended throughout the day. Workspaces throughout our facilities are wiped down and cleaned regularly. And finally, we have implemented mandatory reporting and a stay-at-home policy for any employee who displays symptoms or has been knowingly exposed to a person who has COVID-19.
All of these procedures are expected to be in place for the foreseeable future, and as the new normal emerges, some of them will continue on indefinitely. Callen’s focus has always been on doing what is right for our employees, our clients, their homes, and our community. We look forward to serving our community with the same expertise, communication, and commitment that you have come to expect from us for many years to come.
Sincerely,
Phil Callen – President
Michael Wood, CR – Vice President
