I am a self-described lighting geek. I love the use of both exterior and interior accent, task, and in general “cool” lighting.
LED’s emergence on the scene has given homeowners more options with looks that achieve just about any goal you have for your home.
Let me tell you about our entryway project that ended up beautiful. Incorporating lighting into the design was a last-minute decision, but in the end, proved to be one of best choices we made with the help of the Callen Sales Design Consultant.
Like most products, LED lights have improved since they first hit the market. This includes the ability to change to any color desired with walls switches, remotes, or even apps. You can use subtle lighting or have the option of looking like a disco if you’d like.
Case in point – for the opening Packers game of the 2019 season versus the Bears, I changed the lighting on my staircase handrail to rotate between green and yellow. While this prompted my wife Dawn to call me a dork, she also said it looked really cool.
Most nights, we keep a soft white on and dimmers have been applied to all of our lights. Callen craftsmen routed out a space to put LED tape lighting under the handrail, providing illumination of the handrail, spindles, and the maple wood stairs. As evidenced by the photos that accompany the text, this addition really put the WOW in our entryway project!
Don’t overlook the details in any remodeling project, especially lighting. The impact it has far exceeds the likely increase in project cost. Bring your space to life with well utilized lighting.
