As we wrap up the most surreal year in my 54 years on this planet, one can only hope 2021 will be an improvement… it has to be, right?
Don’t get me wrong. I am blessed with wonderful family, friends, an awesome job that I never take for granted, and my oldest daughter was married in January of 2020. I always count my blessings. I don’t look in the rear view mirror. I learn from history and move forward. COVID, the election, the protests, and general misery with many losing their jobs or being furloughed (I feel very badly for restaurant and bar owners) have really put life and what matters in perspective.
So, let’s be positive and look forward to 2021. It’s impossible to talk about any topic without bringing up COVID, so I will briefly and then move forward. First, it affects everyone of us in our daily lives. The health factors are obvious and the economic and psychological impact are taking a tremendous toll. That being said, the vaccine and time will eventually turn things around – I am a glass is half full kind of guy!
Instead of making a New Year’s resolution that 99% of us will probably not adhere to, let’s be realistic and talk about some fun things… like Remodeling! On my WISN-AM 1130 Remodeling Show, two programs in December featured Callen staffers Christopher Whitman focusing on home exteriors, like Infinity from Marvin Fiberglass replacement windows, and Paulette Sodemann discussing kitchens, baths, and lower level remodeling.
Callen has such a talented staff that I have come to know and respect over the last 25 years. They really do it all. I suggest you do what I’ve done several times – treat yourself to a remodeling project with Callen that will brighten up your new year! Maybe a project like a bathroom remodel or replacing a couple windows in your home you know needs it. What about a larger scale project, such as a new kitchen or siding?
We recently took a walk around our Cedarburg neighborhood and the homes with newer siding and windows really popped and stood out. The new colors are amazing and the curb appeal is jaw dropping. Plus all remodeling jobs add value to your home and will make you smile when you come home every day. Call Callen at 414-529-5509 or visit the company online for more information.
So, here’s to a new and healthy 2021 – Happy New Year everyone!
