I hope all the Dads reading this had a great Father’s day. As I was writing this blog, I was thinking about what we were going to do on Father’s Day. Now, personally I believe dads get slighted a bit. Mother’s Day, with brunches and parties, is a bigger deal – as it should be!
Father’s Day, to me, is a bit more laid back. When my family asked what I wanted to do, I said “nothing.” Really, just do nothing. Now, will that happen? Probably not. But we are just staying home and having the kids over. My “kids” are now adults, and we visit each other’s homes often. Family time in the summer is tremendous. We spend time indoors and out, with lots of outdoor activities and grilling going on.
With that in mind, I have a couple questions for you: How’s the patio door working? Does the screen door open smoothly?
If your home was built in the 1990’s, it is now over or close to 30 years old! It’s time to look at windows and doors and assess the situation. Every homeowner is aware of problematic issues in their home. Maybe it’s your dated kitchen or bathroom. Whatever the situation, life is too short to not enjoy “family time” in your own home.
So, getting back to Father’s Day, it will be at our house. Thanks to Callen, we have an Infinity from Marvin fiberglass patio door that gets used all the time and works great. It leads to an outdoor kitchen, which we use as often as we can.
Make the improvements you know your house needs so you can enjoy family time, having guests over, or when you want to just do nothing.
