As I write this blog, the air temperature is 10 below and the windchill is 30 below. But being that we’re in Wisconsin, by the time you read this, we may well be experiencing balmy temperatures that reach the 20s and 30s.
Yes, it’s been a harsh winter, with lots of snow and plenty of cold air. Working from home because of COVID-19 and staying inside because of the cold leads us back to a common theme – your family and where you live is the focal point of your life.
Growing up, my mom always had a sign in our house that I really liked – “your home is where your heart is.” The average American family moves once every seven years. Most of us don’t live in the same house our entire lives, so indeed, your home may change, but the feelings you embrace regarding where you reside live within your heart.
Over the years, I have stressed remodeling for you, not the next family that lives in your house. Some experts and realtors suggest making sure you stay neutral when choosing colors or having at least one bathtub for the kids of next occupants to use. I’ve always disagreed with this line of thinking, as I believe you should remodel based on the needs of you and your family.
Currently, and for at least the immediate future, we will continue to spend more time in our homes. So remodel accordingly, whether it’s your kitchen, bath, lower level, or any in area in your house. Callen Sales Design Consultants have the expertise to help with any size job.
Regardless of the type of project you’re looking to pursue, make it your own. Remember, your home is where your heart is!
