Memorial Day is upon us. This day means a lot to me, as we memorialize the veterans who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our great nation. May God bless all of those individuals who have protected the freedoms we sometimes take for granted.
Memorial Day can also mean parades, firing up the grill, and family time, creating a slice of “Americana.” For others, it’s just a day off.
No matter how you celebrate or spend the day, Memorial Day is definitely a sign summer is right around the corner. This is a fun time of year, as we’ve come out of a long winter and an unusual spring, and jump into what we hope will be a beautiful Wisconsin summer.
With warm weather in mind, lets think about summer remodeling. For regular readers of my monthly Callen blog, you know I like to consider different elements of remodeling from a personal perspective. I recently hosted one of my WISN “Remodeling Shows” featuring Christopher Wittmann, Master Certified Remodeler and Senior Sales Associate with Callen, and we turned our attention to windows and doors.
Is planning for replacing older and less energy efficient windows as sexy as remodeling the kitchen with new cabinetry and quartz countertops? Maybe not, but this type of renovation is probably more important than you think. It may be necessary to replace windows, as the wood may be rotting and there could be potential mold and other issues that can affect not only the structure of your home, but your family’s health.
Is your entry or patio door an eye sore? If you spend a lot of time in your yard when the weather is warm, you want to open your entry, patio, or screen door to go outside and not curse that it doesn’t open smoothly.
It’s also important to consider your home’s curb appeal. The aesthetics of installing new windows or a new front door system with sidelights, and perhaps a transom window above, can make your home shine and pop! In addition, while you get to enjoy the benefits of new windows and doors, they also add value to your home. Plus, with your air conditioner to soon be running on a regular basis, new windows and doors can keep your home sealed tight to make it more energy efficient.
Callen has as excellent website with great information and beautiful photos, plus incredible sales representatives who are experienced and knowledgeable. A Callen representative can visit your home and provide ideas on how to enhance it through the installation of new windows and doors.
These are just some of the benefits to adding new windows and doors. Contact the talented Sales Design Consultants at Callen at 414-529-5509 to start the process or complete Callen’s online contact form to schedule a FREE consultation to discuss your summer remodeling.
