The Kronforst entryway project is nearing its conclusion.
As part of the demolition work done on the project, Callen brought out a dumpster, placing it on the driveway, to make it more convenient to discard the materials that were being removed. After the demo work was completed, we were able to have the dumpster removed, which made getting into and out of the garage easier.
We are now to the point of staining and painting, plus the detailed work to finish the job. As you can see by the photos, this has really transformed our entryway.
I am sort of a geek when it comes time to lighting, both inside and outside the home. One of the last decisions we made was something we didn’t plan, but looking at photos online, I saw LED lighting tape under handrails that really looked cool. We talked to our Callen Sales Design Consultant and he said they could do it.
But, we went one step further. Using a remote control, we can dim the lights and change colors. How cool is that?
In my opinion, the toughest decision for any project is choosing colors. We finally agreed on an English chestnut stain color. I simply went to a Sherwin-Williams store and picked out the sample I liked, which the Callen crew will be able to match.
As I write this blog, the varnish is being applied, which really brings out the natural beauty of the maple wood steps.
I look forward to next month and showing you the complete project, including the cool lights at night.
